Stripe's charges apply only to automatic payments between residents, about $7.47 on a $500 payment. The per-bed fee and those charges come on one monthly bill, and the building can stop any time.

Payment processing
A sponsor covers Avouch's fees and Stripe's charges on bank payments, not card processing. Whoever pays by card pays up to 3% card processing, shown before they choose. Bank transfer adds no processing fee for the person paying. Without a sponsor, Stripe's own charges for moving the money come out of what the receiving person gets, at cost.
The rent itself
On a sublease, rent goes from one of you to the other. On a lease takeover, the person moving in pays rent to the building under the lease, as before, and the only money that moves between you two, through Stripe, is a side amount you agreed, if there is one. Avouch never holds the money and takes no cut of the rent.
Your building's own fees
If your building charges a relet, transfer or lease assumption fee, that fee is the building's own. The building sets it and collects it, separate from Avouch.
